List of Fast Growing Vegetables in Containers
Onion
Usually, onion takes a minimum of 100 days to grow but there is a kind of onion i.e Green onion, which relatively takes short time to grow. Within 30-40 days, it can be harvested. You can grow a lot of onions at once and use them for later use. Onions are one of the fastest-growing vegetables. Hence, you can go for them and I am sure you will get results soon.
Spinach
Spinach is a leafy vegetable that grows quickly. It takes 3-4 days to germinate its seeds. After 30-40 days it becomes ready to be plucked. It is a very useful green vegetable in terms of physical health. They can grow even in a medium-sized container. Although being a fast-growing plant, it grows mainly in winters or cold weather. So choose according to the weather.
Carrot
Carrots are grown using seeds. All you have to do is to sow it in a container. It will take 70-80 days to grow. Before that, you can also cut the leaves to eat. Leaves of carrots are totally edible. For a longer carrot, a deep pot will be required. Otherwise, the medium-sized container could give a better yield.
Cucumber
Normally, A cucumber plant takes 55-60 days to grow. Seeds get hard once it ripe fully so pluck them before it gets fully mature. It is refreshing to eat raw with salt in summer. Unripe of soft, green cucumbers taste delicious.
Radish
Similar to carrots, Radishes can also be grown from seeds. Its growth time depends upon the season it is grown. In spring, it takes 20-30 days to grow. In winter, it takes longer relatively, probably 50-60 days. But it is an easy and fast-growing crop to choose.
Potatoes
Here comes the king of the vegetables. Although, Potato is a common vegetable that can be used with almost every other vegetable while cooking. They can be grown easily in potato bags. It normally takes 70-120 days to grow. As a beginner, you can go for this option as well. Just cut the potato in half and sow it in the soil.
Garlic
Garlic is quite similar to onions. Both have long leaves that are used as flavors in making several dishes. To grow a garlic plant, take a bulb put apart the cloves, and sow them in soil. It will grow within a week.
Squash
The squash takes 80-100 days to grow in winter, while it takes 55-60 days to grow in summer. Yellow squash is considered to be the best. Put some fertilizer in a container and let it grow. It requires less maintenance as compared to other vegetables.
Turnips
Turnips are root plants that take 50-60 days to grow. In just 60 days, it becomes ready to harvest. It goes well along with carrots. It can be easily grown in containers or buckets through the process of container gardening.

Peas
Peas are another green vegetable consumed both raw and cooked. Using a good composition of manure and soil, peas can be grown within just 7-8 weeks. Peas grow well when their seed is put deeper so it is worth choosing a deeper pot for its smooth growth. Also, they can be harvested twice in a single season.
Cauliflower
The cauliflower takes 8 weeks to grow. It needs plenty of sunlight for its best growth. They can be grown using seed as well as seedlings. It is one of the plants which needs constant and regular care. The cauliflower plants may grow in different sizes in the same container. Keep in mind, it requires constant care in order to grow into a beautiful vegetable.
Basil
Basil is a herb in the mint family. It adds flavor to meals, and its nutrients provide health benefits. To grow it, you need to follow some simple steps. Put them in a bottle filled with water, in about two weeks, you will see its root growing then you can move the cutting with roots in the soil and so will it grow quickly. Being a fast-growing plant it yields well. You can place it in the kitchen with the window so that it can get enough sun.
Lettuce–
Most lettuce varieties are eaten fresh and are commonly served as the base of green salads. They can be grown directly from seeds. It takes about 40-50 days to grow. It can be regrown with its cuttings and can be harvested 2-3 times a year. There are varieties of lettuce from which you can choose.
Mustard Green
Mustard Green are peppery-tasting greens that come from the mustard plant. There are several varieties, which are usually green and have a strong bitter, spicy flavor. It can be grown easily in a pot. It takes 30 days to grow mature and becomes ready for yields.
Mushroom
Mushrooms are edible fungi that can provide several important nutrients. People actually enjoy growing mushrooms inside the house using containers.
